Annoto Analytics and Insights Moodle Guide
Annoto plugin should be set up, and then the Annoto insights dashboard can be easily added for different activities:
Login as Administrator
Enter: Site administration -> Plugins -> Activity modules -> External Tools -> Manage Tools.
In the Add toolbox, click on the “configure a tool manually.” link below the “Add button”.
Fill in Annoto Dashboard plugin details:
Tool name: AnnotoDashboard
Tool base URL/cartridge URL: https://auth.eu.annoto.net/lti/course-insights
Tool description: Annoto’s dashboard was designed in order to shed light upon students’ behavior within
Annoto in-video collaboration widget, providing you with data regarding their engagement with the video.
Consumer key: eyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ….. (Which was received from Annoto, this is provided per Moodle Domain, It’s the same as you received for your plugin).
Shared secret: ••••••••••••••••••••• (Please keep the secrete private) (Shared secret matching the Consumer key provided by Annoto, It’s the same as you received for your plugin.)
Tool configuration usage: Show in activity chooser and as a preconfigured tool
Default launch container: Embed
Secure icon URL: https://assets.annoto.net/images/logo_icon.png
Privacy:
Share launcher's name with tool: Always
Share launcher's email with tool: Always
Accept grades from the tool: Never
Force SSL: Enable (v)
Click on “Save changes”. And the Annoto Tool should appear in the Tools list:
ANNOTO PLUGIN USAGE
After the Plugin is set up, it can be used across Moodle as an activity, as demonstrated below:
Log in as an authorized user with course editing permissions.
Click on “+ Add an activity or resource” on the desired page.
Select “AnnotoDashboard” from the list and click “Add”:
Name the Activity name and press on the “Save and return to the course”.
