# Notification emails

## Why I don't receive email notifications on new comments/replies?

{% hint style="warning" %}
By default, you will **not** be notified on new comments.
{% endhint %}

To start receiving notifications you have 2 options:

* **Add a comment** in the Comments space - once you add a comment in the shared comments, you will automatically start following the discussion.
* **Subscribe to Follow the discussion** via the Annoto menu

## I'm not able to follow a discussion

{% hint style="warning" %}
If you opt out from receiving emails, you will not have the option to follow a discussion.
{% endhint %}

You can enable/disable which notification you will get from Annoto by clicking on “Preferences” in the menu:

**Please note that if you disable notifications in the preferences, you will no longer receive any emails for any of the videos on any of the courses.**
{% endhint %}
